Under a dark grey sky, J-Pod brightens everyone's day. Abandoning the strong flood tide, the orcas break away to calmer waters to navigate their way south. A dozen eagles fished a bait ball along with some uneasy gulls for about 10 minutes before heading to shore to rest. The sub-adult eagle will be 2 years old this Spring. A bait ball is a school of fish. Filmed overlooking Haro Strait, Washington at 1:55pm on 12-29-20

The J11s rest as they slowly move north. 14-month old J56 Tofino can be seen surrounded by her family and friends. Later refreshed, they quickly move back down-island. Mom or Dad? They're identical, both brood and feed chicks.
Hi Thomas, this happens to be the Dad. Besides the size difference in all male and female eagles, there are slight differences in the way the individuals look and long-time cam watchers can tell the individuals apart. Decorah Dad had very white feathers surrounding his eyes while Decorah Mom had dark tiny feathers around her eyes making her look like she had a pale grey mask on. Dad disappeared and Mom took a new mate but the pair has since left this nest which feel apart from dis-use. Thank you for watching.

Yeah, that’s right and she has such a cute face and is a great mom! Remember that video where her keeper forced an apple on her, literally shoving it up to her mouth so the baby could be taken away for a routine physical exam, but she resisted and wasn’t even tempted and kept turning her face away from the apple and held onto her baby tightly? OMG, such as awesome scene! Pandas almost never are able to resist apples shoved right up to their faces! She’s the first mom that I’ve seen do that for so long and it finally failed. The keeper only succeeded when she came back to lure the baby away with honey. But even then, Po held onto her baby tightly and even putting her huge paw on the baby’s head at one point while licking away the honey, just to prevent her keeper from grabbing the baby away. The keeper still took some time to trick Po into letting her guard down by pulling away the baby by force, even with the honey. Have not ever seen another panda mom being able to resist for so long. Tooooo cute and adorable!! 😂♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

What a good baby! He’s a raptor, not a hummingbird. He needs to learn to bite and tear prey. He needs to learn to kill prey and defur/defeather. Raptor chicks bonk. The older bonks the younger. They sometimes kill younger nestlings if the food supply is poor.
